This month, we are proud to shine the spotlight on Asia Simmons, Traditions at Brookside’s dedicated and compassionate receptionist who has been a cherished part of their team for the past two years.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, and raised in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia, Asia brings Southern charm and warmth to Brookside’s front desk every single day. She has been happily married for 23 years and is a proud mother of three grown children - two sons and a daughter - as well as a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren.

When she’s not greeting guests or brightening a resident’s day, Asia enjoys her time off reading, shopping, and spending quality time with her family and grandkids. A woman of many talents, she can both ice skate and roller skate, and she’s also an avid tennis enthusiast.

Asia finds deep fulfillment in her role at Brookside, especially in making residents smile, laugh, and feel truly seen and heard. She is passionate about forming meaningful connections and cherishes every opportunity to help residents feel special and cared for.

One memorable experience she shared involved a resident who initially came down each day feeling negative and discouraged. Through simple acts of kindness and attentive listening, Asia helped turn those moments around.

“Eventually, she started smiling and becoming more positive every day - that made my day,” Asia reflects.

Asia describes the atmosphere at Brookside as one of high morale and teamwork. “I love what I do,” she says. “I enjoy being a team player and stepping in to help wherever needed. It's rewarding on so many levels.”

“Asia’s commitment to excellence and compassion is truly inspiring,” said Patty June, Brookside’s Executive Director. “We are so grateful to have Asia as a part of our team - her heart, positivity, and dedication make Traditions at Brookside a better place for everyone. “We know that she will keep up the good work!”

Congratulations, Asia!
